The 2019 State Budget delivers for Ballarat
Ms ADDISON (Wendouree) (15:49:38): I am proud that the state budget delivers for Ballarat. We are keeping our promises and delivering for our community. Each and every one of our election commitments is being funded despite a tight budgetary framework. All the while we have maintained our AAA rating and we have also delivered a $1 billion surplus.
Last week’s budget is outstanding for Ballarat, with $10 billion for Her Majesty’s Theatre, $7 million for the Wendouree West Reserve and $2.5 million for lake lighting in Victoria Park.
From roundabouts to rail, we are keeping people moving by upgrading nine intersections and providing $100 million to improve the Ballarat train line.
Victoria is the Education State and we are investing in Urquhart Park and Delacombe primary schools, Mount Rowan College and Ballarat High School.
The Andrews Labor government is committed to the health of all Victorians. That is why we are establishing an early parenting centre in Ballarat and providing baby bundles for new parents and babies.
We are also providing an additional 25 000 specialist appointments at Ballarat Health Services as we deliver world-class health care at our doorstep.
Further, we are addressing issues of mental health and addiction by providing $170 million for more beds and services.
I am proud to be a part of the Andrews Labor government, which has a very positive plan and is making things happen for Ballarat. Most importantly, we will continue delivering for all Victorians in all sectors that we represent.
