Playtimes for students at Invermay Primary School are being shored up, with the Victorian Government looking to secure a vital piece of playground space.

Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison MP, today announced that the Victorian Government is seeking to purchase a parcel of land adjoining the school at 187A Swinglers Road, Invermay from the City of Ballarat.

Invermay Primary School is largely vegetated with limited hard surface areas for the students to utilise. The site consists of asphalt tennis courts and is currently being used by the school.

The site is particularly valuable to the school’s operations as it is the only hard surface play area.

The purchase will secure the site as an ongoing play space for the school.

Outdoor play spaces are vital for keeping students active and creating healthy, lifelong habits.

The land purchase continues the Victorian Government’s record investment in schools.
