International Women’s Day – Member’s Statement
I am proud to be a member of the Andrews Labor government representing the electorate of Wendouree and its strong women, past and present.

It is always a difficult gig to do the few minutes before question time starts, but I will do my best as I stand to speak on the Victoria Police Amendment Bill 2022.
An innovative leadership program will encourage more women to represent their local communities as the Andrews Labor Government continues to support the advancement of women in local government.
I am pleased to report that the Ballarat Station Precinct Redevelopment is now complete, and thank the Member for joining me at the official opening.
The Andrews Labor Government today announced that a Local Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service will be established in Ballarat and its doors will be open from mid-2023.
I direct my adjournment matter to the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, and the action I seek is for him to provide me with an update on the Victorian government’s investment in major sporting infrastructure and events in Ballarat.
Charlie Payton was a stalwart of the Ballarat community and sadly passed away in January.
My question is for the Minister for Regional Development. Will the minister please advise when the successful applicants for the current round of the Regional Infrastructure Fund will be announced?

Another wonderful example of the best of our community is the Lyric Theatre and the cast of We Will Rock You, which finally reopened on Thursday after being cancelled last year.

The Ballarat station precinct has been transformed into a vibrant commercial, transport and community space, thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government.
Works are underway to upgrade one of Ballarat’s busiest intersections to better connect cyclists and pedestrians to Ballarat’s centre.

Ballarat’s impressive Eureka Sports Precinct has been given a further boost with the opening of Stage Two of Selkirk Stadium.
