I direct my adjournment matter to the Minister for Fishing and Boating. The action I seek from the minister is to provide me with an update on the Victorian government’s investment in fishing and boating and how this is benefiting recreational fishing in Victoria.
My question is for the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events. Will the minister please advise how hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games will benefit Ballarat and regional Victoria?
I rise to speak on the Legislative Assembly Economy and Infrastructure Committee report on the inquiry into commonwealth support for Victoria. This is the second time I have spoken on this committee report, and I am sure there will be a third time as well because there are so many important things to discuss about Victoria’s future and how we are getting done over by the federal government.
I thank the Member for Wendouree for her question about the Regional Infrastructure Fund Round Two and am pleased to hear that her electorate is benefiting from previous Regional Infrastructure Fund investments.
Ballarat is very proud of our veterans, and a number of Anzac services were held across Ballarat, including the dawn service, the Arch of Victory, the Ex- Prisoners of War Memorial, the Sebastopol RSL parade and service and the Ballarat RSL parade and service at the Cenotaph.
My question is for the Minister for Employment in the other place. Will the minister please provide me with an update on how Jobs Victoria programs are supporting my local jobseekers to find employment and supporting local businesses to fill roles in the Ballarat community?
I was sorry to hear about the devastating fire at Reid’s Guesthouse in Ballarat resulting in its temporary closure and the displacement of 50 guests. I appreciate the hard work by all involved in securing alternative accommodation for these people.
I thank the Member for Wendouree for her question and commend her on her continued advocacy for community sport in her local community.
The Victorian Government has a strong history of investing in sporting facilities and initiatives to support national and international sporting and major events in Ballarat.

My constituency question is for the Minister for Mental Health. Minister, how is the government increasing awareness of mental health services in my electorate of Wendouree?
I would like to congratulate the Ballarat Clarendon College girls first on winning the schoolgirls coxed four national title at the Australian Rowing Championships.
I too am pleased to speak on this bill that will improve road safety for our community, and I welcome the bipartisan support from those opposite.
My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Housing, and the action that I seek is for the minister to provide me with an update about the temporary closure of Reid’s Guest House in Ballarat and what steps have been taken to support displaced guests.
My question is for the Minister for Roads and Road Safety and is about four very important intersection upgrades across Ballarat.
I am very pleased to rise to talk about the committee that I am on, the Legislative Assembly Economy and Infrastructure Committee, and talk about our inquiry into commonwealth support for Victoria.
I am delighted to contribute to this bill, the Justice Legislation Amendment (Fines Reform and Other Matters) Bill 2022, because this bill is important to contributing to the development of a fairer, more effective infringement system in this state, and I think that is what we all want.
