Consulting Giant’s Regional Move Boosts Ballarat Jobs
An Australian consulting giant will establish a new office in Ballarat, creating up to 200 jobs in the important regional centre, backed by support from the Andrews Labor Government.
Minister for Economic Development Tim Pallas today announced the establishment of the Ernst & Young (EY) Service Delivery Centre at the Federation University Ballarat Tech Park in Mt Helen.
The satellite hub will service clients across Australia and the Asia Pacific, with Ballarat chosen as the location for its access to a diverse talent pool and partnership opportunities with Federation University in relation to job recruitment and traineeships.
The centre will initially focus on business operations and digital support services in the financial sector including security and verification services – providing jobs for people with a wide range of skills and experience.
EY will provide ongoing digital training to deliver complex projects, including those supporting their clients’ digital strategic transformation.
The Labor Government’s International Investment Strategy is attracting global organisations to secure the skills, capabilities and technology that will drive growth and diversification in the Victorian economy.
Investments already facilitated by the Government under the Strategy unveiled in 2020 are forecast to create more than 7,000 full-time-equivalent jobs for Victorians and the move into Ballarat by EY will add up to 200 more local jobs over three years.
EY is one of the world’s largest professional services firms with more than 300,000 employees in 150 countries. In Oceania, the firm employs more than 9,000 people and had revenue in excess of $2.3 billion last financial year.
