New Quest to boost Ballarat tourism
Visitors to Ballarat will enjoy a new place to say with today’s opening of the new Quest Hotel at the Ballarat Station Precinct, thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison was today joined by representatives from the City of Ballarat, Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, award-winning property developer Pellicano Group and staff from Quest Apartment Hotels to formally open Quest Ballarat Station.
Quest Ballarat Station is the second component of the Ballarat Station Precinct to be completed after the multi-deck commuter carpark. The hotel offers a new accommodation option for travelers, with 77 rooms close to transport and the soon-to-be refurbished Goods Shed Convention Centre.
The redevelopment of the Ballarat Station Precinct, including Quest Ballarat Station, is being completed in partnership with Pellicano Group of Companies.
The development has been funded by $28.3 million from the Labor Government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund. The project will transform the precinct into a vibrant, connected and accessible commercial and community hub, while embracing the precinct’s historical and heritage significance.
The Ballarat Station Precinct redevelopment is estimated to be worth more than $50 million, is expected to create around 140 local jobs and will generate up to $30 million in further private sector investment.
The total redevelopment includes the Quest Apartment Hotel, the refurbished Goods Shed, a public plaza, an access road within the Precinct, a commuter car park with 405 spaces over three levels, additional 150 car park spaces for the hotel conference centre and a new bus interchange.
