Delivering More Homes For Ballarat

The Andrews Labor Government is delivering the largest ever investment in housing across regional Victoria, ensuring our most vulnerable have a safe and secure place to call home in their local community.Minister for Housing Richard Wynne today announced at least 150 social housing homes will be built in Ballarat creating 100 direct and 350 indirect local jobs.

Apprenticeships Put Hundreds On Path To Jobs Success

More than 300 young Victorians have joined the workforce through a Victorian Government program that provides apprenticeship and trainee roles across the state.Launched last September, the Victorian Apprenticeship Recovery Package supports people aged 15 to 24 into fully funded, 12-month apprenticeships or traineeships with government departments and agencies, and local councils.

Playtimes for students at Invermay Primary School are being shored up, with the Victorian Government looking to secure a vital piece of playground space.Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison MP, today announced that the Victorian Government is seeking to purchase a parcel of land adjoining the school at 187A Swinglers Road, Invermay from the City of Ballarat.

Education and Training Reform Amendment (Protection of School Communities) Bill 2021 – Second Reading

It is an absolute pleasure to stand up and talk about an area that I have such a great interest in, that being the education of future generations of Victorians, and today talking about the protection of our schools, protecting our school communities and protecting our teachers. Our teachers need protection, very sadly. That is why this bill has been introduced, and I am very, very proud to go in to bat for teachers. After being a teacher myself for 12 years and having lots and lots of very good friends who are teachers, I am so proud to go in to bat for them and support this very important Education and Training Reform Amendment (Protection of School Communities) Bill 2021.
